Is this really something we want ? In my experience the base us is perfectly fine. Let your x server determine what to send through ssh.

We already set the keyboard to fr during the installation, that sets the following configuration for physical usage :

# cat /etc/kbdtype
fr

Through ssh, it depends on your x server.
